Our Tennis Team

  • With more than 300 members, the PSC Tennis Section has been the backbone of the club for many years and an average of 60 members and guests play each night during Tennis Club Night from 3:15-9:30pm on the 10 artificial grass courts (which are floodlit) and 9 natural grass courts at the PSC.
  • The PSC has a strong tennis history winning the “Freddie Chong Cup” and “Heah Swee Lee Cup” numerous times but we always welcome new members, whatever your standard of play, to join us for friendly games and fellowship.
  • Probably the largest private tennis facility in Malaysia, the PSC’s Tennis Section organises many internal competitions, social events and inter-club home and away matches each year as well as monthly medal competitions which are also open to external players. The Tennis Section supports a very active junior section with monthly round robin competitions, footwork and fitness drills with our club PT instructor and several group coaching classes. Coaching is also available for adults and we have several tennis coaches operating at the club.
  • The Tennis Section also assists the PSC in hosting several states, national and regional level tournaments each year that are run under the auspice of the Penang Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) and the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM).
  • The most prestigious event held at the club over 3 days during March each year is our own “Penang Sports Club International Invitational Tennis Tournament” (PSCIITT). It is the largest tennis tournament held in Malaysia attracting some 400 players and many spectators from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Australia: it fully utilises the 19 courts at our disposal.
  • We invite new and prospective members to come and see our facilities – maybe we can organise a game together and introduce you the tennis fellowship at the PSC.
